Cloud interconnection

Updated

A cloud interconnection is a private network link into a public cloud that does not go through the internet: AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect and Oracle FastConnect. Each exists as a dedicated port or as a connection supplied through a partner already connected to the cloud.

In practice

A partner or hosted connection is the usual way to bring IoT traffic into a cloud: you accept or pair it in your cloud console, and the traffic of your devices arrives in your private network there.
