SGP.02 (eSIM for M2M)
Updated
SGP.02 is the earlier GSMA specification for remote provisioning of eUICCs in machine-to-machine devices. Profiles are pushed and switched by the network side, through two servers called SM-DP and SM-SR, which ties the device to the platform chosen at manufacturing.
In practice
Many existing IoT devices use SGP.02; switching operator on them usually requires agreements between the platforms involved, which SGP.32 was designed to avoid.
